2025 Wood Snake Year

Welcome to the Year of the Snake, which runs until February 2026. According to Chinese astrology, the wood Snake is associated with good taste, charm, creativity and intuition, and for all of us, these traits may become stronger. He can also facilitate transformation and allow us to shed old skins.

But be warned, the snake year can also bring secretive, sly, and downright deceptive behaviour. We may not see what’s really going on, so please, stay on-guard against scams!

Feng shui shifts

According to feng shui, the energies (or flying stars) in our homes and businesses shift each year. Some compass sectors will become more supportive, while others may be best kept quiet or may need ‘celestial cures’. A feng shui assessment and report will give the full picture, but here are a few tips to get you started!

Energise the vibe

Welcome the Snake by cleaning your front door and entrance, then to recharge your home’s energy, open your windows regularly over the next few weeks. To banish bad luck, burn white sage or sandalwood, then clap your hands or ring a bell in the corner of each room – and of course, around your front door. This can be done at any time, or just before each new moon.

Support romance

To invite romance in 2025, try energising the western part of your home or garden. Jazz up lighting, add romantic images, display crystals like rose quartz (the stone of love), and pop in some colourful flowers or fruiting trees, if space and light permits. Alternatively, a pair of ornamental ducks, birds or MONKEYS, the Snake’s ‘secret friend’, might work like a charm!

Enhance the East

From February, the luckiest energies will gather in your home’s Eastern sector (most phones have a compass app). Begin with a good clean and declutter, then start beautifying. Flowers (especially orchids), lamps, crystals, plants, beautiful art, crystal suncatchers, candles or red items should all help to attract good fortune. Open the windows in the east and use this part of your home more!

Central Tai Chi

The ‘tai chi’ sector, which falls in the center of ALL homes and businesses, will benefit from ‘celestial cures’ in 2025, especially if health needs support. Ring bells regularly, as the sound of metal will help to clear negative energy. Keep the center of your home clean and clutter-free and consider adding a salt water cure. Instructions here

TIP: Avoid over-stimulating the north east in 2025, as this sector may be discordant. Add a Four Element Pagoda or salt water cure if a bedroom or front door falls in the north east. (To activate a Pagoda, fill each section with garden soil.)

Placement of cures

Without knowing your home’s base feng shui (including it’s flying stars), it may be a case of trial and error, so pay attention to the effects of cures and enhancements, then move them if needed. For example, salt water cures will not crust up if placed in the wrong spot. Only place cures in major rooms, not in bathrooms, laundries or spare rooms.
